OpenAI has launched its Learning Accelerator program in India, targeting the vast education sector with artificial intelligence. India, a major market for ChatGPT, will benefit from 500,000 licenses distributed to students and educators across various institutions, including government schools, technical colleges, and the ARISE network. The initiative, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), aims to enhance lesson planning and personalized engagement. IIT Madras will spearhead research funded by OpenAI to study AI’s impact on cognitive development and learning outcomes. This comprehensive approach includes training modules to ensure responsible AI usage. By equipping over 250 million students with AI tools, OpenAI seeks to position AI as a trusted educational resource while solidifying its presence in one of the world’s largest education markets. The program emphasizes effective integration, skill-building, and global insights into AI adoption in education.
