In a strategic partnership, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) customers will gain access to Google Cloud’s advanced Gemini models, including Gemini 2.5, through the OCI Generative AI service. This collaboration enhances Oracle’s offerings, featuring various Google Cloud models integrated into its Fusion cloud applications alongside xAI’s Grok and industry-specific models like MedLM. Initial rollouts will include the Gemini Ultra, Gemini Pro, and Gemini Nano models. OCI customers can utilize existing Oracle Universal Credits for these models, which complement current availability from Cohere, Meta Llama, and xAI. This partnership builds on previous collaborations between Google Cloud and Oracle to facilitate Oracle Database @ Google Cloud. Analyst Holger Mueller emphasizes that this development benefits OCI customers, positions Oracle as a neutral facilitator for large language models (LLMs), and expands Google’s reach with Gemini. Key considerations regarding data residency and training environments remain pivotal moving forward.
