Report: Apple planning to ‘deeply’ integrate Gemini-backed Siri into multiple core apps

Since the launch of Apple Intelligence, the addition of new AI features has been minimal, with notable updates including Apple Music’s AutoMix and Apple Watch’s Workout Buddy. However, major changes are on the horizon. According to Mark Gurman’s Power On newsletter, Apple plans to deeply integrate the upcoming Gemini-backed Siri across its core apps. While initial ambitions included a “World Knowledge Answers” project to rival ChatGPT, these plans have been scaled back. Apple’s Safari browser overhaul, aimed at enhancing AI functionality, is also on hold. The strategy has shifted from standalone chatbots to a cohesive Siri experience embedded in apps like Safari, TV, Health, Music, and Podcasts. This significant integration could debut as soon as next month, with a full reveal expected at WWDC24. As Apple gears up for an exciting 2026, the tech community eagerly anticipates the new capabilities of Siri and the advancements in Apple Intelligence.
