Cadence has unveiled the ChipStack AI Super Agent, touted as the world’s first agentic workflow for chip design and verification. This innovative AI tool targets crucial tasks like RTL coding, testbench generation, test plan orchestration, regression management, and automated debugging, promising up to 10x productivity improvements. It builds on Cadence’s existing AI-enabled design portfolio, including the Verisium Verification Platform and Cadence Cerebrus. Supporting both cloud and on-premises models, ChipStack integrates with NVIDIA’s generative AI frameworks to enhance designer efficiency. Industry leaders like Altera and NVIDIA have reported substantial productivity gains, highlighting the urgency for AI in the face of increasing semiconductor complexity. This system is designed to address skill shortages while shortening iteration cycles and improving silicon success rates without increasing headcount. As it gains traction in early deployments, Cadence plans to further integrate ChipStack into its design and verification ecosystem, showcasing its commitment to advancing AI in electronic design automation.
