The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in marketing and sales is growing, yet training remains insufficient, according to a new General Assembly survey. Although 68% of professionals use AI tools, only 17% received comprehensive, job-specific training, raising concerns about governance and brand safety. Research indicates that 55% utilize AI less than five times daily, primarily for content creation (57%), market research (49%), and customer relationship management (42%). Notably, one-third lack any formal AI training, while many find existing training too generic or concept-focused. To enhance AI adoption, 39% of sales professionals seek hands-on training tailored to their tasks, while 49% of marketers desire practical examples. Despite AI increasing productivity—67% report having more time for strategic work—many remain doubtful about its impact on revenue and customer experience. This highlights the urgent need for targeted, role-based training to help teams maximize AI’s potential and improve ROI.
