Rubrik Finds Declining Identity Resilience as AI Agents Rise

A recent study by Rubrik Zero Labs reveals a significant trend in the cybersecurity landscape, showing that 89% of IT decision-makers have integrated AI agents into their identity infrastructure, with over half anticipating that these agents will be responsible for 50% of cyberattacks within the next year. The report underscores a critical gap between the rise of non-human identities (NHIs) and organizations’ confidence in managing identity-related threats.

Key insights include that 90% of leaders see identity-driven cyberattacks as a top threat, and 58% plan to switch Identity and Access Management (IAM) providers due to security concerns. Alarmingly, only 28% believe they can fully recover from a cyber incident within 12 hours, highlighting a decline in confidence. Rubrik emphasizes the importance of developing robust identity resilience strategies to address these growing threats effectively. Additionally, they have launched new Google Cloud security solutions to enhance cyber recovery and Zero Trust initiatives.
