Sam Altman talked about the possibility of AI running the ChatGPT maker

Since the launch of ChatGPT in late 2022, concerns about AI displacing jobs have intensified, though CEO positions remain relatively secure. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, however, expressed a vision for AI to take on the role of CEO in a future podcast discussion. He remarked that it would be a groundbreaking achievement for OpenAI to be the first major company with an AI leader. Altman acknowledged that while AI’s capability for managing entire companies is still years away, departmental leadership could emerge in the near future.

Despite advancements, he pointed out the inherent human bias favoring human leaders over AI, even when AI may perform better. Altman has previously shared his views on the potential for AI to automate his role, seeing it as an exciting development rather than something to fear. He envisions a future for himself post-OpenAI, potentially enjoying time on his farm, emphasizing a shift towards a slower-paced, nature-oriented lifestyle.
