Reports suggest OpenAI will host a private event for executives and venture capitalists on February 19, highlighting the growing significance of India in the global AI landscape. The country is currently ChatGPT’s top market by downloads and the second-largest by users worldwide. To enhance accessibility, OpenAI launched an affordable “ChatGPT Go” plan under $5 and offered it free for a year. In addition, major firms like Google and Microsoft have committed substantial investments in AI and cloud infrastructure. Anthropic has established a presence in Bengaluru, while OpenAI is actively recruiting in New Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru, underlining India’s pivotal role in driving AI advancements.
