As the competition in foldable smartphones intensifies, Samsung confidently anticipates the arrival of Apple’s rumored folding iPhone. In a Bloomberg interview, Samsung’s Mobile President, Won-Joon Choi, emphasized their technological lead, stating, “We’ve been doing this for many years,” and highlighted how Apple’s entry could benefit the industry and consumers. Samsung recently launched the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7, its most advanced foldables yet, while Apple’s foldable model is projected for 2026. Notably, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 is Samsung’s first to feature an in-house Exynos processor, with Choi indicating future chip selections aim to optimize performance and power efficiency. Additionally, Samsung plans to expand its AI integration beyond Google’s Gemini, exploring partnerships with other AI agents to enhance user experience. Amid trade policy uncertainties, Choi reassured that Samsung’s global manufacturing capabilities provide flexibility to adapt. With fierce competition looming, the foldable market is set for a dynamic year ahead.
