The concept of ‘Vibe Coding’ is gaining traction, allowing non-technical individuals to understand coding basics. Coined by OpenAI’s co-founder Andrej Karpathy, vibe coding lets users articulate project goals in simple language to coding tools like OpenAI Codex and Cursor. Samsung has teased a new vibe coding feature, still in development, aimed at enabling users to modify existing apps or add custom features. According to Won-Joon Choi of Samsung’s Mobile eXperience division, this innovation would shift users from relying solely on pre-made tools to creating tailored app experiences. Although not yet integrated into Samsung’s One UI, the move aligns with the tech giant’s goal of enhancing control over device usage. As AI tools like OpenAI’s Codex simplify app creation, a future where users can easily customize or create apps—regardless of coding knowledge—seems promising. This evolution signifies a significant leap in user empowerment in app design.
