Samsung is set to expand its AI offerings for the Galaxy S26, seeking to provide users with diverse AI options. In a strategic shift from its existing partnership with Google’s Gemini, Samsung is reportedly in discussions with multiple AI vendors, including OpenAI and Perplexity. Choi Won-Joon, president and COO of Samsung’s mobile division, emphasized the company’s goal of enhancing user experience by offering competitive AI agents. Earlier reports indicated that Samsung and Perplexity were close to finalizing a deal that would preload Perplexity’s technologies on Samsung devices and possibly integrate its advanced search capabilities into the Samsung Internet Browser. Furthermore, there are plans to make Perplexity’s assistant a default option and to develop an “AI-infused” operating system, alongside a dedicated app for AI agents. This move underscores Samsung’s commitment to innovation and user choice in the competitive smartphone market.
