SK Telecom is making a strategic move into the Japanese artificial intelligence (AI) agent market by investing 2.2 billion yen (approximately 20.6 billion won) in Time Tree, a popular schedule-sharing platform. The partnership, announced on the 8th in Tokyo, is aimed at expanding SK Telecom’s AI ecosystem globally. Established in 2014, Time Tree boasts around 67 million users, making it a significant player in Japan, often referred to as the “second line.” SK Telecom plans to introduce its advanced AI agent technology, ‘Agentic Workflow,’ which enhances user interactions by actively analyzing and optimizing scheduling tasks. This marks the first deployment of SK Telecom’s AI tech in international markets. CEO Yoo Young-sang expressed confidence in creating new value and expanding AI services, while Time Tree CEO Park Cha-jin foresees this partnership as a gateway for global expansion. Both companies aim to redefine the future of AI-driven scheduling services.
