SK Telecom (SKT) has launched an AI transformation (AX) initiative aimed at overhauling its corporate structure to empower all employees to develop AI agents and drive innovation. CEO Jung Jai-hun emphasized that true AI integration starts with minor improvements made by employees familiar with daily challenges. SKT’s roadmap includes a support system and training for all staff, regardless of their roles, to create task-specific AI solutions. Employees will access multiple platforms, including A.dot Biz, Polaris, and Playground, to facilitate this development. An AX management system will foster a culture of innovation by cataloging employee ideas and monitoring progress. The company also plans to organize a hackathon and share success stories to reinforce this transformative effort. By unifying AI units and enhancing operational efficiency, SKT aims to redefine its approach following a significant customer data breach in early 2025.
