Splitit is launching a new partner program aimed at integrating card-linked pay-later functionality into AI shopping agents, with a pilot set for Q4. This initiative allows registered AI agents to access real-time installment options during merchant checkout flows without redirecting users or requiring new credit lines. Users can utilize their existing credit or debit cards for transactions. Splitit’s solution will conform to Google’s Agent Payments Protocol (AP2) and OpenAI’s Agentic Commerce Protocol to ensure compatibility within future ecosystems.
Splitit CTO Ran Landau emphasized the importance of embedding seamless installment options from the onset. The company aims to collaborate with top merchants, platforms, banks, and networks to develop beneficial use cases. According to CEO Nandan Sheth, Splitit is evolving to encompass various payment methods, emphasizing a SaaS-based model that enables incumbents to compete with FinTech speed while maintaining trust and control. This shift is part of Splitit’s broader mission to innovate beyond traditional eCommerce.
