A recent survey by CalypsoAI reveals a troubling trend in U.S. workplaces regarding artificial intelligence (AI) usage. It found that 52% of employees are willing to violate their company’s AI policies for convenience, with 25% already doing so. Trust in AI surpasses trust in human colleagues, with 45% of workers favoring AI over their peers, and 38% preferring AI managers. Alarmingly, 28% have used AI to access sensitive data, while one-third of employees would quit if they couldn’t use AI tools. Entry-level workers are particularly at risk, with 37% feeling no guilt for breaching AI policies due to unclear regulations. In regulated sectors like finance, 60% admit to rule violations regarding AI, while in healthcare, only 55% adhere to their organization’s policies. CEO Donnchadh Casey warns that these findings highlight significant risks tied to unregulated AI use, especially in critical industries affecting health and security.
