American AI firm Anthropic recently decided to limit its services to entities “more than 50% owned” by companies in unsupported regions like China, leading to uncertainty among users relying on its Claude AI models. Trae users are anxious about potential service restrictions and have started inquiring about refunds due to fears of losing access to Claude. Despite these worries, Trae management reassured users that Claude remains available and advised against refund requests. Alongside Trae, other Chinese companies like Alibaba’s Qoder and Tencent’s CodeBuddy also depend on Claude for their coding platforms targeted at international users.
