As active participants in the GSMA Open Gateway Initiative, they focus on testing two key AI protocols: the Agent-to-Agent Protocol (A2A), which facilitates dynamic collaboration between AI agents, and the Model Context Protocol (MCP), ensuring secure access to external tools. This collaboration aims to simplify the exposure and consumption of Network APIs, enabling developers and industry partners to create innovative services rapidly. Initial tests include a bank fraud prevention agent utilizing Nokia’s Network Exposure Platform for streamlined API access. This initiative emphasizes Telefónica’s commitment to open innovation and automation, while also preparing for a new era of AI-driven monetization models in the telecommunications sector.
