Recent data from our third annual CIO survey reveals that while OpenAI currently leads, with 78% of enterprise CIOs utilizing its models, Anthropic and Google Gemini are gaining traction, particularly in specific use cases like software development and data analysis. Notably, 81% of enterprises now leverage multiple model families, signaling a shift towards diverse AI adoption.
Despite significant adoption rates for AI applications, Microsoft remains dominant in enterprise solutions, with a significant preference for established incumbents due to trust and integration benefits. The trend towards closed-source models is rising, underpinned by enhanced model quality and security concerns. Although reported ROI from AI investments is positive, there remains considerable room for improvement as enterprises navigate effective deployment. As demand for enterprise AI continues to grow, the competitive dynamics will be key to watch moving forward.
