AI is increasingly integrated into daily work, with 72% of global respondents regularly using it, rising to 92% in India. However, only 51% of frontline employees engage with AI regularly, a stagnating figure. The report by Boston Consulting Group highlights that, while India and the Middle East lead in adoption, they also express significant fears about job displacement—48% of Indian workers worry about losing their roles within a decade. The study shows that only 36% of Indian employees feel adequately trained for AI, and those receiving more personalized training become regular users. Moreover, a potential risk arises from “shadow AI,” as over half of employees would use AI tools without authorization. Effective engagement from leadership is crucial; only 25% of frontline workers feel supported in AI utilization. Companies that redesign workflows and invest in training are likely to achieve better results, necessitating a clear people strategy to address these challenges.
