After an intensive academic year, students Reagan Burkemper and Evan Schubert applied their artificial intelligence (AI) skills during summer internships at Husco, a leader in hydraulic control systems for automotive industries. Husco’s dedicated internship program allows students to work on impactful projects, offering real-world exposure to engineering and business functions. Burkemper and Schubert developed innovative AI solutions: Schubert created a chatbot to assist technicians in resolving production line issues quickly, while Burkemper developed an AI model to streamline warranty claims data analysis. Their experiences at Husco not only enhanced their technical skills but provided valuable insights into practical applications of AI. Both interns emphasized the importance of their academic background from MSOE in preparing them for this experience. Students seeking internships can access resources at the Career Connections Center to kickstart their career journey. This experience exemplifies how internships can bridge classroom knowledge with real-life applications in the tech industry.
