Travelers Embrace AI for Enhanced Trip Planning

Travellers see AI as a travel planning tool

A recent Global Rescue Winter 2026 Traveller Sentiment and Safety Survey reveals that while 36% of travellers are open to using artificial intelligence (AI) for travel planning, most still prefer human expertise. CEO Dan Richards highlights that although travellers are curious about AI’s potential, they resist relinquishing control over their decisions. Gender differences show 25% of men are inclined to use AI for decision support versus 19% of women, with 36% of women opting out entirely. Geographic trends also indicate that both US and non-US travellers, at 37%, are likely to avoid AI, yet non-US respondents favor human guidance over AI more than their US counterparts. A significant 41% of respondents express hesitance towards AI-recommended destinations without independent confirmation. Overall, AI is seen as a helpful tool for inspiration but not a replacement for personal judgment in travel planning. The findings emphasize the importance of maintaining a balance between technology and human touch.
