Technology Secretary Liz Kendall emphasized that non-consensual sexual content is already a crime under the Online Safety Act, and this ban targets those who profit from such apps. Experts warn that nudification apps can cause significant harm, especially in cases involving child sexual abuse material (CSAM). The government is collaborating with tech firms to develop protective measures and will impose stricter regulations to ensure children cannot share or view nude images. Charities like the Internet Watch Foundation and NSPCC have praised these moves but seek further action to enhance child safety online.
