This innovative addition allows users to pose natural language questions about local places and activities directly within the app, receiving tailored answers with accompanying visual maps. Instead of sifting through numerous listings, you can ask about nearby facilities, like public tennis courts with evening lighting, or the best local restaurants.
The Gemini AI enhances travel planning by offering personalized suggestions based on over 300 million places, community reviews, and user data. It can generate customized itineraries and routes, streamlining the travel organization process.
Currently rolling out in India and the U.S. for both Android and iOS, Google plans to extend the Ask Maps feature to the desktop version of Google Maps in the future. This feature transforms Google Maps into a more intelligent travel assistant, making it easier for users to explore and plan their journeys.
