OpenAI has launched ChatGPT Agent, a powerful tool enabling multi-step task execution for users, including meeting planning and presentation generation. Available exclusively to paid subscribers, Pro users can access 400 prompts per month, while Plus and Team users have 40 prompts. The agent showcases OpenAI’s advancements by combining web interaction, deep research capabilities, and conversational fluency. Users can easily instruct the agent to perform complex tasks like analyzing competitors or scheduling client meetings.
Despite its robust capabilities, ChatGPT Agent currently lacks real-time responsiveness, sometimes taking up to 25 minutes for tasks. OpenAI is prioritizing safety by temporarily disabling certain features, implementing user confirmations for critical actions, and creating protections against prompt injections. The model has demonstrated impressive benchmark performance but raises security concerns, categorized as having “High Biological and Chemical capabilities.” OpenAI aims to enhance ChatGPT Agent’s features and efficiency over time, marking a significant evolution in AI-driven productivity tools.
