Google has introduced its latest AI model, Nano Banana, for image generation and editing, now accessible on X, formerly known as Twitter. Users can generate desired images by tagging the AI tool and adding prompts. The official Nano Banana handle encourages users to “Try the Gemini App or tag me Nano Banana to generate/edit an image.” This release accompanies the Gemini 2.5 Flash Image update, which enhances user experience. Key features of Nano Banana include blending multiple images, maintaining character consistency for storytelling, using natural language for targeted transformations, and leveraging Gemini’s extensive world knowledge for image generation. Launched in late August, the Gemini 2.5 Flash Image update is available to developers via the Gemini API, Google AI Studio, and Vertex AI, with a pricing structure of $30 per million output tokens, equating to approximately $0.039 per image. Feedback has informed the advancement from the previous Gemini 2.0 Flash launch, aiming for improved quality and user control.
