Google’s Gemini 3 has officially launched, intensifying competition with ChatGPT while enhancing its suite of tools, particularly Google Search. The AI model has significantly upgraded the AI mode in Search, introducing advanced reasoning capabilities and a generative user interface (UI). According to VP Elizabeth Hamon Reid, Gemini 3 excels at answering complex questions with depth and nuance. Currently, this AI mode is available to Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers in the U.S., with plans for broader access soon.
Users will also benefit from a ‘Thinking’ setting in AI mode, enhancing response accuracy. Google’s innovative generative UI features allow it to create interactive experiences, such as visual layouts and simulations, tailored to user queries. This means that asking about complex topics can yield both instructional text and interactive tools, like a mortgage calculator for real estate inquiries.
