Unsettling AI-Generated Videos of Kids: The Controversial Use of Sora 2

On October 7, the TikTok account @fujitiva48 sparked controversy by sharing a video parodying a toy commercial aimed at children, garnering widespread backlash. Viewers criticized the commercial for introducing a seemingly innocent toy, the “Vibro Rose,” which strikingly resembled a sexual device. The video, created using OpenAI’s Sora 2 video generator, highlighted disturbing trends in AI-generated content that echoes real-world threats to child safety. Reports of AI-generated child sexual abuse material (CSAM) doubled from 2024 to 2025, with a significant portion involving girls. The alarming rise in such content prompted the UK to propose an amendment to its Crime and Policing Bill, enabling checks on AI tools to prevent CSAM generation. Meanwhile, 45 U.S. states have enacted laws banning AI-generated CSAM. As technology evolves, concerns around the exploitation of children through AI remain prevalent and urgently need addressing.
