UNSW Sydney has secured a landmark agreement with OpenAI to implement its ChatGPT Edu platform for staff, marking Australia’s largest educational partnership with the leading U.S.-based research organization. The University has acquired 10,000 licenses, granting access to OpenAI’s advanced AI tools for all fixed-term and permanent staff, including researchers, educators, and professional personnel. This initiative aims to enhance research and teaching while safeguarding intellectual property. Announced by UNSW Vice-Chancellor Professor Attila Brungs at the UNSW Societal Impact of AI Symposium, the partnership follows successful trials and emphasizes responsible use of AI technologies.
