Researchers Amy Booth, Abbie Petulante, and Margaret Shavlik have created a prototype and are working towards commercialization through COG Learning, targeting opportunity gaps in early literacy support. Funded by various grants, including those from the NSF and IBM, the app is designed to be minimally intrusive, placing emphasis on caregiver-led engagement. With positive feedback from initial users, the REED app could revolutionize literacy development, making interactive reading accessible and effective for all families.
