Gear News of the Week: The iPhone Air Is Surprisingly Repairable, and Gemini Comes to Google TV

Google’s Gemini AI transforms how viewers find content, enabling in-depth queries for season summaries or popular titles. For instance, you can ask, “What’s that hospital drama everyone is discussing?” and get instant recommendations like The Pitt. It also facilitates family-friendly searches, such as “Find a movie for me and my wife; I prefer dramas while she enjoys comedies.” Additionally, Gemini can answer diverse queries, from DIY projects to learning instruments. Currently exclusive to the TCL QM9K Series, it’s set to expand to Google TV Streamer and certain Hisense models by late 2025.

In women’s health, Withings enhances its ScanWatch 2 with Clue, a menstrual cycle app. The watch’s HealthSense 4 uses AI algorithms to track health events, integrating data like sleep and stress. Withings is bundling the ScanWatch 2 and a Clue Plus subscription for $380, addressing underfunded women’s health needs while fostering innovation. GoPro also launched the Max2, a competitive update to their 360 camera, featuring both pro and consumer-friendly capabilities.
