As artificial intelligence (AI) revolutionizes dating, it’s becoming a digital Cupid, wingman, and even a romantic interest. A recent T.R.U.T.H. report by Hily found that 82% of Gen Z and 87% of millennials are turning to AI tools for dating assistance, with 95% planning to do so in the future. However, there’s a paradox; while they embrace AI, 62% of Gen Z and 70% of millennials express disappointment if matches use AI during initial communications. Concerns arise around authenticity, as some daters question whether AI-generated messages undermine genuine interest. With the rise of “chatfishing,” where AI handles conversations, people often feel disillusioned by the transactional nature of modern dating. Interestingly, 66% of millennials feel less confident on real dates after using AI. Experts warn that relying on AI can overshadow unique personality traits, leading to issues when connecting face-to-face.
