Willo, a Glasgow-based recruitment technology platform, has raised £3 million from Mimecast co-founder Peter Bauer, marking its largest funding round to date and boosting total funding to over £5.9 million. This investment is timely, addressing the surge in fraudulent and AI-generated job applications, which necessitates stronger verification tools. Willo’s latest innovation, the Verified Profiles feature, harnesses data from third-party sources to automatically confirm a candidate’s identity, educational background, and skills, providing recruiters with trustworthy insights. Founded by Euan Cameron, Andrew Wood, and Hamish Livingston, the remote-first platform has already gained traction with employers through structured video and audio interviews that reduce bias. This funding will support Willo’s expansion into the North American market, capitalizing on the rising demand for reliable hiring solutions amidst the challenges of remote and hybrid work models. With a focus on reshaping the hiring process, Willo aims to become an essential tool for employers globally.
