James Morales, an HVAC instructor at Yavapai College, has introduced “Professor HVAC,” an innovative AI application designed to enhance student learning in a hands-on environment. With an 18-1 student-to-teacher ratio, he recognized the need for more personalized attention and developed this app using ChatGPT. It allows students to access step-by-step guidance during lab work, addressing their questions effectively. Morales believes the app will accelerate class learning and has plans for future enhancements, such as job boards for employers seeking qualified HVAC candidates.
The application is generating excitement not just in HVAC but also in other technical disciplines like construction, electrical, and plumbing.
