Utilizing ChatGPT, she entered her symptoms—such as stiff legs and hair loss—which helped lead to her correct diagnosis. Genetic testing confirmed she suffers from the complex quadriplegic type of HSP, a rare inherited disorder that progressively weakens leg muscles and affects all four limbs. Despite her medical struggles, including facing a seizure and being misdiagnosed multiple times, Phoebe remains determined to raise awareness about HSP. She is currently fundraising for a specialized wheelchair to support her independence. The Cardiff and Vale University Health Board acknowledged her struggles in obtaining a proper diagnosis. Phoebe’s story highlights the importance of accurate medical assessments and the role of technology in patient advocacy.
