Dubbed “AI slop,” this content highlights the ease with which AI tools can create false narratives around critical global events, complicating efforts to regulate misinformation on social media. Notably, an AI-generated image depicting Macron and other officials sitting in dismay was dismissed by fact-checkers due to visual inconsistencies. It was amplified by pro-Kremlin sources, referring to the leaders as the “Coalition of the Waiting.” This trend of creating satirical content with AI undermines legitimate dialogue surrounding the Ukraine conflict, especially as moderation on platforms decreases. Meanwhile, Trump has ruled out deploying U.S. troops but hinted at potential air support, as European leaders discuss security guarantees ahead of future talks.
