Users in India faced significant access issues with OpenAI’s ChatGPT, as reported on the platform’s status page. Elevated error rates were noted on Wednesday, particularly starting around 11:30 AM IST, causing many users to experience delays and inaccessible services. Specifically, at least 23 features, including login, search, DALL-E, and both web and mobile applications, were impacted. OpenAI confirmed they were aware of the situation, initiating monitoring and mitigation processes. By 10:00 AM CET, the company announced that all issues had been fully resolved, restoring full functionality to the chatbot. This incident coincided with the launch of OpenAI’s new subscription plan, ChatGPT Go, priced at INR 399 (approximately $4.60) per month, aimed at attracting more users. The new plan offers enhanced access to GPT-5, image generation capabilities, file uploads, and advanced data analysis features, further enhancing the user experience.
