Google has launched a new feature called Skills for Gemini in Chrome, allowing users to save and quickly access frequently used AI prompts with a single click. This functionality is available on desktop versions of Chrome for Mac, Windows, and ChromeOS. Users can save prompts directly from their chat history and easily run them on any page by typing a forward slash (/) or clicking a plus sign (+). Skills sync across all devices where Chrome is signed in, enabling seamless access to saved prompts. Google also introduced a Skills library containing over 50 pre-built prompts for tasks like productivity, shopping, and budgeting. The feature aligns with ongoing security measures in Chrome, requiring user confirmation for actions involving external processes. Currently available to English (US) users, Skills for Gemini enhances AI browsing capabilities amidst increasing competition from other companies offering similar features.
