Google has unveiled its new AI tool, Guided Learning, integrated into the Gemini platform. Launched just before the school year, this feature serves as an AI mentor for students, focusing on deeper understanding rather than merely providing answers. Guided Learning enhances critical thinking and promotes independent learning by enabling step-by-step problem-solving and tailoring explanations to individual needs. It employs diverse multimedia resources like images, diagrams, videos, and quizzes to elucidate complex topics.
Additionally, Google is enriching Gemini’s learning capabilities with automatic additions of diagrams, images, and YouTube videos in responses. Students can also request flashcards and personalized guides based on their assessments. To further support education, Google is offering a free one-year subscription to the AI Pro plan for students in select countries, granting access to advanced features such as Gemini 2.5 Pro and Deep Research tools. This initiative marks a significant shift in how AI can aid academic learning and comprehension.
