Meta Platforms has launched new language-focused creator tools for Instagram, Facebook, and the Edits app, announced at the “House of Instagram” event in Mumbai. The update introduces AI-powered dubbing and translation for Reels in Bengali, Marathi, Telugu, Kannada, and Tamil, boosting local language content creation in India. This AI system translates audio, syncs it with lip movements, and employs voice cloning to preserve the creator’s vocal identity. Dubbed Reels will feature a “Translated with Meta AI” tag, while users can switch to original audio if desired. The Edits app also receives an update with new fonts supporting Indian scripts like Devanagari and Bengali-Assamese, enhancing visual elements and captions to align with cultural themes. This move aligns with Meta’s strategy to cater to the growing demand for regional content, making online experiences more inclusive across linguistic communities while retaining creator identity through innovative technology.
