At the recent ‘House of Instagram’ event in Mumbai, Instagram announced significant updates emphasizing India’s role for Meta and enhancing creator visibility. Notably, Meta AI will soon allow creators to translate reels into five Indian languages, broadening audience reach. Following an October launch, creators can already dub and lip-sync reels in English, Hindi, Spanish, and Portuguese, with upcoming support for Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Marathi. This feature maintains the creator’s voice, ensuring authenticity while aligning translated audio with natural mouth movements. Additionally, new Indian fonts, including Devanagari and Bengali-Assamese scripts, will soon be available for Instagram Edits, enhancing content personalization. To access these fonts, users should open their editing timeline, select “Text,” and find the options under the “Aa” icon. These updates complement a series of recent features designed to empower creators, including enhanced editing tools and expanded sound effects, ultimately fostering a diverse and vibrant content landscape.
