Starting in 2025, Meta will link employee performance evaluations to their “AI-driven impact,” marking a significant shift in corporate culture toward AI integration. Janelle Gale, Meta’s head of people, announced that employee assessments will focus on how effectively they utilize AI to enhance productivity. Although individual AI usage metrics won’t be included in performance reviews for 2025, employees are encouraged to highlight their AI achievements in self-reviews. This strategy aligns Meta with other tech giants like Microsoft and Google, pushing for an AI-native workplace where adapting to AI is essential. The company is enhancing its hiring process to incorporate AI in coding interviews and launching incentives to encourage AI adoption. An “AI Performance Assistant” will facilitate the upcoming performance review cycle, allowing employees to use tools like Metamate and Google’s Gemini for content assistance. Overall, Meta aims to foster an AI-driven work environment that rewards impactful contributions.
