The new Codex plugins allow users to bundle predefined skills, app connectors, and resource configurations into shareable, installable packages, enhancing team collaboration. Codex supports unique use cases, enabling skills for individual projects and plugins for multi-project functionality. Over 20 plugins, including integrations with Figma, Notion, Gmail, Google Drive, and Slack, are currently available, with a dedicated Plugin Directory anticipated soon. While OpenAI has not provided specific timelines for the directory’s full launch or external submissions, this development reflects a response to market trends, as seen with Claude Code’s offerings. Codex subscriptions start at $200 per month, while Claude Code’s Max plan is $100 per month.
