Samsung’s upcoming flagship devices will integrate Perplexity, enhancing Galaxy AI’s capability to support multiple AI agents. This integration will allow Perplexity’s AI agent to work seamlessly with Samsung Notes, Clock, Gallery, Reminder, and Calendar, with some third-party app compatibility still to be revealed. Announced ahead of the Galaxy Unpacked event, details about this collaboration and its relationship with the revamped Bixby are expected soon. Perplexity can be activated by the phrase “Hey Plex” or through quick-access physical controls. Samsung’s COO, Won-Joon Choi, emphasized that this expansion aims to provide users with greater flexibility and choice for task management, positioning Galaxy AI as an orchestrator for a cohesive user experience. Additionally, Samsung previously partnered with Perplexity to incorporate its AI search engine into Samsung TVs. However, Perplexity has faced challenges, including lawsuits from Merriam-Webster and Encyclopedia Britannica for alleged content scraping and copyright violations.
